PA Vets

The Animal Hospital on the Golden Strip team of skilled veterinarians welcomes you to our practice. Proudly serving the Williamsport and Loyalsock Township areas. At The Animal Hospital on the Golden Strip, it is our daily privilege to provide quality vet care to your cherished pet, with compassion and competence. We hope to ensure a positive impact on our patients, pet owners and the local community.


Dr. Steve Winton

Born right here in Williamsport, PA, but raised around the Carlisle area, Dr. Winton graduated from Mansfield University with a degree in Biology. He received his Veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Winton has been practicing in Williamsport for the past twenty years. He has worked as a naturalist for the Audubon Society, and a wildlife rehabilitator. His interests include avian and exotic medicine as well as treating traditional family pets. Dr. Winton enjoys most outdoor sports and can be found camping, canoeing and hiking. He has five children and spends most of his free time taking care of his small farm in Loyalsock.


Dr. Laura Williams

Dr. Laura joined the Hospital in February 2014. She is originally from North Carolina. She went to undergraduate school at UNC-Asheville, then attended veterinary school at North Carolina State University. After finishing school, she practiced some mixed animal medicine for 5 years. While in Tennessee she owned/partnered with the Animal Hospital on Signal Mountain for 15 years. Currently, she lives on a farm in Williamsport with several cats, dogs, horses, goats and more. Many of them are rescue animals. She has many interests but prefers the outdoor activities the best, especially hiking with family, friends and pets.


Dr. Christine Pifer

Dr. Christine Pifer joined the practice in June 2015. She grew up in Lewisberry, PA, located just south of Harrisburg. She received her bachelor's degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University in 2011 and received her DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2015. Dr. Pifer is married to her husband, Brett, and they love spending time together outdoors, hiking, biking and kayaking. In her spare time she also enjoys reading, baking and playing the piano.

Dr. Ellen Weaver

Dr. Ellen Weaver grew up in Lakeland, FL where she attended undergrad at Florida Southern College. She then moved to Virginia and attended vet school at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. During vet school, Dr. Weaver was active in clubs and participated in V.T. Therapy Pets with her greyhound, Warrior. Currently, she resides in Williamsport with her fiancé and enjoys spending time with family, trying new restaurants and exploring the area.
